When it’s a beautiful sunny day, The Blackpool Zoo is a favourite, especially if you have children in tow.  Get there early so you don’t miss out on all the talks and the feeding times, all the keeper’s are in charge of this and they specialise on all the different animals they have at the Zoo, its very entertaining. The large family Lake View Cafe is situated in the heart of the zoo, next to the elephant house. This licensed cafe seats 400 people and serves a large selection of good quality hot and cold food.

Another favourite on your Summer Holidays In Blackpool to visit, Stanley Park, with it’s 256 acres you can spend all day there. On weekends, Stanley park has music playing at the Band Stand, from live bands to soul music there is something different each week. The Band Stand is next to the lake where you can take a boat ride and keep your eye out for all the wonderful wildlife. Not far from the Lake and Band Stand sits the circular Italian Gardens, all year round these gardens are kept immaculate,  flowers are planted and when they bloom they are a fabulous design. At the side of these wonderful gardens sits an Art Deco building, this is a cafeteria with an ice parlour, on certain days this cafeteria has live entertainment in the evening including a meal in the price. There are many more activities at the park, the best way to see them is to visit.  It’s a short trip on a bus from the Blackpool Town Centre.

Blackpool Promenade has had a phenomenal £100 million spent on modernising, Blackpool Council has invested heavily in improving the promenade and its facilities – to the extent of totally rebuilding its entire 3.3km length. This major regeneration project was the need to replace the town’s life-expired Victorian sea wall. The Council have also built Spanish concrete steps which lead you down to the beach and many visitors like to sit on the steps and just watch the world go by, perfectly tranquil.
